Managing Director

 Jeff Hyde is Ideas in Focus founder and Managing Director. A RIVA trained moderator, he has over 25 years of experience in marketing, advertising, new product development, and market research. He has been a speaker and trusted resource for universities, marketing groups, the media, and organizations seeking expert insight into the mind of the modern consumer.

Jeff works closely with his clients to understand their needs and objectives so they can pursue the best approach and uncover learnings that are both insightful and actionable. He is an experienced facilitator, moderator, interviewer and ethnographic researcher, and has conducted hundreds of web-based, in-home, in-store, and shop-along interviews. His experience covers many categories and includes working with consumer, business-to-business, non-profit, and government clientele.

Prior to forming Ideas in Focus in 2003, he worked for Doner and JWT advertising agencies. At Doner, he led new product development and national advertising efforts for Bush Brothers and Arby’s. At JWT, he worked as a New Product Consultant to Ford Motor Company’s worldwide product platforms and was involved in consumer research and product development for vehicles in national and international markets.

Jeff is actively involved in community philanthropy and serves on the boards for several Cleveland, Ohio non-profit organizations.

Senior Director, Strategy & Insights

Sandy Embrescia-Hridel is a results-oriented, fact-based marketing expert with 23 years of experience in market analysis, opportunity assessment, business strategy, tactical marketing, product innovation and merchandising for business-to-business and business-to-consumer organizations. He is an experienced interviewer and moderator with a deep understanding of how research findings are used to inform decision making. Sandy’s expertise rests in his ability to deliver insights and plans that are actionable, as opposed to just interesting. He is also accomplished at using various quantitative and qualitative research techniques to uncover insights.

At Ideas in Focus, Sandy provides consumer insight analysis, strategy consulting, brand integration, facilitation and in-depth interviewing services. Recognized by clients for his ability to get “up to speed” quickly, Sandy has worked on projects for companies in consumer goods, financial, healthcare, industrial goods, professional services and technology industries and for non-profit organizations.

Prior to joining Ideas in Focus, Sandy held senior marketing positions with American Greetings as the Director of Marketing for their 525 company stores, and as Merchandising Manager and Pricing Manager for The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company’s 800 auto service centers.

Jennifer Martin Brooks
Senior Strategist

Jennifer Brooks is a career strategic branding, marketing, and communications executive with deep business management and leadership experience. She has spent over 25 years helping fortune 500 companies in high growth industries position and market their business critical products and service lines. Jen also has led and grown mid-size marketing and creative agencies so is adept at small business strategic planning, business development, creative strategy and development, human capital strategy, and financial planning.

She has a combination of client-side, agency, and consulting experience and broad multi-industry knowledge including financial services, telecommunications, and healthcare. Jen’s healthcare background includes patient and provider marketing in the primary care, specialty care, hospital, and out-of-hospital settings for device, drug/device, and pharmaceutical compounds. She has worked extensively in oncology, hematology, infectious diseases, neuroscience, mental health, and hospital-based wound care.

Most recently, Jen was President of The Scienomics Group, a 50 person, $10MM specialty scientific strategy and communications consultancy serving pharmaceutical and biotech clients. Prior this role, she was Managing Director at HealthEd Group, a 150 person, $25MM healthcare agency specializing in patient education to support adherence, self-efficacy, and disease management in highly regulated drug classes and complex therapeutic areas. She came to HealthEd Group from Ethicon, a 5,000 person $5B Johnson & Johnson company, where she worked in brand marketing leading a $100MM wound closure product line and in global communications leading organizational, corporate, crisis, and marketing communications for Ethicon’s full portfolio of wound closure devices across a broad range of surgical procedures.
